The Group Health Research Institute (GHRI) conducts the research that allows Group Health to fulfill its mission to "transform healthcare."

Founded in 1983, GHRI conducts approximately 150 studies at any given time and receives the vast majority of its funding from sources such as the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
